King is actually a queen

Hello friends and family (mais uma vez).  I’m back! And letting you all know that I survived another week and it was actually a very good week. I learned SO MUCH!! I love being a representative of my Savior and friend!!!

This week flew by.  The work was a little slow, but we saw lots of miracles, which made up for it. We found a family of 5. Their oldest daughter is 8 years old, second is 6, and their baby is almost 1.5 years old. This family is WONDERFUL and I need your prayers! My manner of thinking is that if we can enjoy the blessings of eternal families so should they. I have never seen a woman so determined to lead her family on the path of truth and I want her to succeed. So I'm asking for prayers and fasting and I really mean that when I say it! Let's put one more family on the road to eternity:) God is so good to have put them in our path at this time. God's timing is perfect.

Now to explain my subject line. This week I did a division with sister King and wow!  She is a powerhouse. I was so genuinely impressed by the spirit she has. She is just the cutest thing and I was able to learn so much from her (as always from the division) but it was cool to be on the flip side for real this time. She's super new in the mission and just starting to speak Portuguese, just like I was in the beginning. It's like looking in a “mirror”…and people say we look alike too. It was cool to look back at my first division with another American wondering what the heck I was supposed to do and thinking that I'd never get there. But, oh how time has changed me. Sister King is a powerhouse and changed my point of view a lot. I loved being able to work with someone who is so close with the spirit!

Blue Popsicle: "noite do caldo" - We had an activity this week that was unlimited soup and juice. It was really yummy:)

June 17, 2019

I had so many things I wanted to say in this email and have forgotten all of it during the week. But I’ll try and remember the key points:)

This week we had another division and we faced some hard-core rejection. But it's so cool how after the negative, God gives us a positive to remind us why we're here:) I was working with Sister Rodriguez, and after what seemed like a million "No’s" we found a really cool "yes." He was in front of another church and he stopped us to ask if we knew when it was going to open.  We invited him to the Church of Jesus Christ instead, and he accepted:) It was very cool!

Next cool thing, sad, but kind of cool...  we had re-planned our day when it got dark and we felt bad about going up into one of the neighborhoods that was super far from home.  Sister Maydana saw an old pesquisadora's house and said, "let's go visit Carina, and see how she's doing."  So we headed over and knocked on the door, and a man answered. We asked if Carina was home and he just looked down, shook his head, and answered, "unfortunately... Carina passed away two weeks ago." We could not believe what we had just heard!  We were able to give him a little “sneak peak” into the Plan of Salvation, and he just lightened up and thanked us for the visit. We are SET on changing his life.  I mean we're going to help him let God change his life. :)

I am constantly learning that the spirit works in very interesting ways and I am hoping that I will understand better and better as I go through these last 6 months of the mission. I am loving the work here.

Mais um email..:)

This week flewww by and it was such a great week!! We had our leadership conference, which was really awesome. I was able to learn a lot, and it was fun because all of the sister leaders stayed in the same house.  There was a power outage, pizza, açaí and it was just so fun. Always an adventure of some kind here in Brasil:)

Also this week I got to do a division with a cute sister named Sister Mendoza and she is just the sweetest human being I have ever met. We saw so many miracles like usual in the division, and the next day we had our last conference as a zone with Presidente.  We went to Burger King and then got açaí... again...:) never too much açaí! I'm going to miss Presidente so dang much, but I'm excited to meet Presidente Barros. It'll be an interesting time in the mission.

One last thing about this week was that I ended up sleeping on the floor one night with some pillows and blankets cause there wasn't a mattress available. It was a great night...:}

We found some really cool people this week and I would really appreciate prayers for them!!!

Hello, another email from Kass here:)

So this week I transferred over to Rio Claro and I immediately saw so many miracles from God. He is just so good to us over here. The house is kind of interesting to say the least, but we spend more time on the street than at home, and I love my area so it's all good.

Getting into a new area, time usually passes slowly… so.... this week took about 10 years to pass, but here we are again! I honestly don't have a ton to say but I do have a cool story:) I highly recommend ACTUALLY reading it.

So I got to Rio Claro and we were finishing up the baptismal preparation of an investigator. He had his interview, and everything was ready and perfect. So we called him Saturday morning to confirm the time and Gabriel (the investigator) said he didn't want to be baptized anymore. Long story short - he cancelled his baptism! My companion had no idea what was going on at this point until I said, "So you want to cancel your baptism today?" and she was like "WHAT?"  We almost gave up just to respect his decision. BUUUUT the spirit told me to invite him to pray to know for sure if he was making the right decision. So I hung up the phone and my companion and I said a prayer, while he said he would also say a prayer on his own. A few minutes after saying “amen” the phone rang and it was Gabriel.  He said (and I quote) "só alegria... eu sei que o pai quer que eu seja batizado" which means, more or less, "pure joy, I know that the Father wants me to be baptized," and a few hours later he was baptized! It was a huge miracle. The power of prayer is so real.

That's basically the sum of my week. We are also receiving many families from Venezuela, and I am going to be learning Spanish in this area for sure.  I need to... that'll be fun:)

My last P-day in Piracicaba.. Maycon's bday
